Be warned that the walk to the top is remarkably steep and, unless you're fit, it's worth considering taking the chairlift. We walked up, and after doing that plus the walk around the top, we decided to take the chairlift down because the walk is so steep it would be hard on the knees.

Sometimes the nut chair lift closed early, better call them before going there.

An amazing time. You'll love the scenery. And the people running the Chair are very nice. They will help you if needed. A must to do on your bucket list

The walking track is very steep but doable. If daunted by the gradient there is an option of a chairlift. Regardless once at the top the walking tracks are well formed and suitable for all fitness levels. Allow about an hour to walk the full circuit and take in all the views and panoramic views. Be warned though the weather can change very quickly on top and it can be very cold. Be prepared. The climb up is 410 metres with and elevation of about 140 metres and the circular track about 2 kilometres. For the health nuts my wife recommends a brisk walk up the Nut, two laps jogging around the top and a steady descent down for a good work out.

Have you even been to Stanley if you haven't climbed the Nut? The climb is well worth it for the views, the excersize and the sense of accomplishment when you reach the top. The track around the top (currently being upgraded, still open though) offers stunning views from a number of lookouts and is a great activity for the whole family. Early morning and dusk are my favourite times to go, your almost guaranteed to make some wallaby friends! Not only that the early morning light and sunset are a beautiful sight to behold from the Nut

This is a must-do for anyone visiting Stanley. The views from the top are amazing, and the 40-minute walk around the top is well worth doing as there are several viewpoints and some wildlife (we saw pademelons).
