Worth a visit if you’re staying in Stanley. It gives a fascinating insight into the history of the area and offers fantastic views of the Nut and the town of Stanley. The house is very well maintained with much of the original furniture still inside. You’re given a guide when you begin which tells you about each room in the house and each location on the grounds. I’d allow about an hour and a half to fully explore the entire place.

Assisting with the Circular Head Garden Spectacular 2017 was interesting to see a lot of the inside and out of this historic site. The house and grounds are available to view regularly thanks to parks and wildlife dept.

We attended the Garden Spectacular here 21st October. The gardens and flower arrangements were as promised, spectacular. This coupled with the history and period furniture and costumes on display in the house made it a very enjoyable afternoon. The house is open and on display at other times. We just had the bonus of displays, food and refreshments, not to mention the bullock team demonstration. Added bonus is also the view of the Nut and surrounds.
